I have been out of touch for awhile and after 8 years I have decided to try and get back into fishing this summer... The one question I have today are builders still building spiral wrap ,Roberts wrap or have the builders went back to a straight traditional wrap...I've also noticed a change in spinning rods guide's..thanks for your time Ken Re: fishing in general

Builders are still using the spiral because it's a sound concept. It still remains a tough sell to many fishermen, however. Spinning rod systems have evolved quite a bit in the last two decades, spurred on by the Fuji Concept Guide idea. Many variations exist nowadays but all stick to the general idea which produces better line control and longer casts, as well as removing weight from the upper half of the rod. Like the spiral wrap, it produces real benefits.
