Does anyone have a photo they can post of a trolling rod, guides on top, under load that shows the tip and some of the guides near the tip starting to twist and torque due to downward pressure? Looking for this photo to put next to a spiral wrap photo to make a point.
Thanks Buzz Re: need photo of trolling rod under load.........

enough to make the tip section an first guide or two twist out of the "on top" location to facing down toward the water...... Re: need photo of trolling rod under load.........

Cabela's used to have a photo of their Whuppin' Sticks showing exactly that, they still may be using it. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/28/2016 08:58PM by Spencer Phipps. Re: need photo of trolling rod under load.........

Buzz,
Out of curiosity, do you have any light action casting rods where you could duplicate the condition that you are asking about? Re: need photo of trolling rod under load.........

no Roger I don't. All of my casting and trolling rods in the shop are spiral wrapped................ Spencer I searched Cabelas and found that model in a spin rod but not in a trolling rod under load.
The search continues............ Re: need photo of trolling rod under load.........

did you try google images for trolling rods, may not be a good enough pic there, but you might get lucky Re: need photo of trolling rod under load.........

Buzz,
I have a light action downrigger rod in a commercial conventional wrap. I will put a reel on it and simulate your wish and see what happens. Be safe Re: need photo of trolling rod under load.........
