Need some blank recommendations... Have a request for a 7'6" to 8' e-glass cat rod. He'll be using a baitcaster with 20# line, live baits and circle hooks setups. Had him handle a Rainshadow .385X.105X72 and a CRB 7' Medium, Fast action for feel. He is a tournament cat guy and was okay with them but really desires to mimic the discontinued E-CAT from Berkley (7'6" MH, cork handle, stainless steel guides with titanium inserts super soft tip for bite detection and setting circle hooks).
Anyone in the midwest or down south in cat country have a line on, or willing to let a blank go, which might fit the bill? Thanks in advance. Mike Re: Catfish Blank Recommendations for the Berkley "E-CAT" Series?

Sounds like a live bait blank will get the nod, lots of glass ones out there. Re: Catfish Blank Recommendations for the Berkley "E-CAT" Series?

I spoke to your customer just a few days ago and am excited to see what you have found. There are two catfish rods that were manufactured in the mid to late nineties. They discontinued both rods due to lack of consumer interest (lower than expected demand). At the time, those rods were at a pricepoint that many catfishermen believed was too high. The two rods are the St. Croix Classic Cat and the Berkley E-cat. Both were offered in an array of different lengths and actions to fit a specific niche in the catfishing application. I am also looking for blanks to match those actions as I own a number of those discontinued rods. specifically I am looking for a 7' spinning/casting and a 7'6" casting in those actions.
Looking forward to handling the finished product. Re: Catfish Blank Recommendations for the Berkley "E-CAT" Series?
