THE RULES FOR THE 2017 WORLD ROD BUILDING CHALLENGE
Sing up will end JUNE 15. 2016 at 12PM (Midnight) You will be assigned a ID # and a password , with this password you will be able to purchase your blank from CTS Go to the CTS website with this address : [ctsfishing.com] You will then enter the Password, it will bring you to the page for the 2017 World Rod Building Challenge blank, where you will see the discounted blank and add it to your cart, there will be no name or any specs of the blank. Last year we had some contestants they purchased 2 blanks to add parts to there idea of their project, that will be ok. If you are ordering the blanks as a group, you have to inform me , who is in the group, I will pass the information on to Gayleen and Stephen Pratt. Guys this is the biggest discount on a high quality blank we can get, that is the reason we are doing it this way. The cost of the blank is displayed in New Zealand Dollars, in U.S. Dollars it's about 142.50 plus 30 $ for Shipping as an individual Contestant, the rest of the world the shipping will about 40 Dollars. This is one of the most versatile blanks you will be able to find, so we should have some real crazy builds this year. The rod you built has to contain at least 50 % of the blank you purchased, you can add parts from a different blank or leave a section or 2 away, what ever you want to do. Why do we issue a ID number: Very simple, the Dealers need to know who gets the blank to discounted cost, and the Components. Your rod will be displayed with your number, no names - no favoritism in the voting, after the voting your names will be placed on the rods. The Judging: 30% of the Vote is Public choice at the ICRBE 2017 in Winston Salem, NC The other 70 % through the Judges at the ICRBE, the judging will be strictly technical, Here an example: Thread-work 10 points if it is decorative wrap or a Weave or just straight wrap, it better be straight, tight, no crossovers and Fitting to the rest of your work. If you decide to do a weave, you better have it right on. But don't forget 30 % of your vote is the Public, they will go straight by looks. I will also try every rod on its functionality ( casting, guide placement etc.) The Judges: Stephen Pratt: CTS Karry Batson: Batson Enterprises Tom Kirkman: Rod Maker Magazine Scott Gimbert: Mudhole and MHX Todd Vivian: Mudhole and MHX How to Enter: Contact me via Facebook: Mark Steven Crouse or email: Mscrods@gmail.com or post a message on our Facebook page: 2017 World Rod Building Challenge With these Rules anyone should be able to enter, Thread Artist or not will have the same chance. MY BIGGEST RULE: DO NOT PLACE ANY PICTURE OF YOUR ROD ON THE PAGE TILL AFTER THE ICRBE 2017 Be a part of the biggest Rod Building Challenge The World has ever seen. Best Regards Mark Crouse - The Munich Rod Man Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
