Unlocking Nut Sequel

I also have an unlocking nut on my fly rod that keeps coming loose. How do I stop that? I didn't want to hijack the other thread.
Thanks

For flyrod issue I would consider coating the seat threads with some sort of thread locker before proceeding.

You can install an O-ring between the nut and hood, or between a pair of nuts, and this will often eliminate the problem by providing positive expansion against the pieces involved.

Yes, it's one nut on an uplocking reel seat. It comes loose toward the butt end. So I guess I install an O-ring behind the nut in the direction it is loosening?
Can I buy O-rings at the hardware store?

Not behind the nut - between the nut and the sliding hood. As the ring is compressed when you tighten the nut, it then pushes against the nut much in the way that a split lock washer works.

Yes, they sell them at most hardware stores.
