What blank would you recommend for fishing 1/4oz to 1/2oz jerk baits and MirrOlure MirrOdine twitchbait lures in salt and brackish waters for Snook, Redfish, and spotted sea-trout? This would be for a 7' to 7'6'' spinning rod. I'd rather be catching! Re: salt water spinning blank for jerk and twitchbaits

I just finished a rod for the same exact purpose yesterday except I would want to use some topwater baits with it too. I did some research and I chose the mhx hm-mb843. And I really like it so far, I haven't got the chance to fish it yet but it feels like it would do the job superbly. I paired it with a penn clash 3000 and 15lb power pro super slick and it casts extremely well with a half ounce weight. I built a Rainshadow IP-843 for the exact same thing and love it. You might look at Rainshadow IMMP-70M. Re: salt water spinning blank for jerk and twitchbaits

PB701MF is a super all around blank for trout and redfish. I cast grubs to 3/8oz, Zoom Fukes, Mirrodines and the small Skitterwalk with the Medium Fast POINT Blank. Have to take 2 with me on every trip so I won't have to change lures so often. Come shake one at the show. Re: salt water spinning blank for jerk and twitchbaits

Mr. Jim,
Glenn here from Louisiana Gulf Coast. Thinking about rod building. Where did you buy 701MF? Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
