Split carbon on rod tip

Hi guys, im new here..

Anyway ive encounter a split on one of the rod tip, what i see is more like a surface split.. How do i repair this?? Can i super glue it back?? Thanks alot

If the tiptop tube will cover it, then it will likely be okay. If it's beyond the tiptiop tube, then any delamination of the carbon fibers aren't likely to be held by an adhesive. Even a wrap-over with thread will be hard pressed, but is likely your best bet to try.

How long is the split. If it is very short, it is likely best to trim the tip. If it is longer, then it is more of a problem.

Nizam,
I would likely use 5 minute epoxy to glue the split back together and then I would do an overwrap on the split, extending the wrap a 1/2 inch or so on each side of the split. If you can arrange it so that a guide is placed in that area, you can use the guide to help cover the split and then extend the guide wraps as needed to reinforce the area.

Of course, if the split is bad - you might be better off using a different blank. The severity is unknown to me and that decision is in your court.
