Guide Sizes and Spacing

I am building myself a light two handed rod. This rod is being built on the Anglers Roost IM6 9' 10" 4wt blank. I will be using their 19" handle kit. I am needing to know what size guides to use and the spacing to place them. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I believe it is total handle. It comes with fighting butt, reel seat, and front handle.

Michael,

My choice would be a 10 guide layout

Guide placement from tip

4.0; 8.7; 13.9; 19.9; 26.7; 34.4; 43.3; 53.3; 64.7; 77.8

Guide type and quantity

(4) Recoil #1 light wire titanium
(2) Snake brand #2 snakes
(1) Snake brand #3 snake
(1) Snake brand #4 snake
(1) #10 Double foot Alox insert
(1) #12 Double foot Alox insert

I believe this should do the job

I am a beginner rod builder and I am wondering how you determine the guide spacing on a rod? I would imagine it all depends on the length of the rod you choose to build... is there a guide spacing chart that can be acquired? a rule of thumb or some kind
of a mathematical equation to determine the spacing and the amount of guides needed to complete a build? I apologize in advance if my question is trivial and there is something I should know that everyone should know.... I just don't get it :)

Go the online library here and take a look at any of the several guide spacing articles, particularly the one on static stress distribution.
