Are you sure they are sic and not alconite?

K-Series stainless guides carry an ALCONITE® Ring. For SiC, you will need to use a Titanium Frame. ALCONITE® is a top performer and I would venture to say you will find very few people here that would not recommend it as a top choice for a stainless frame. Gunsmoke is the only stainless frame in K-Series with an SiC ring.

Yes, Fuji makes a Polished stainless SiC, an eco-friendly (bluish) SiC and a Titanium Plated SiC. We do not carry them.

Check out [www.jingow.com] -- I have bought Fuji guides from them that are not available in the U.S.

Alconite guides will work just fine. I've used them on many rods and have never had a problem, both in SS and titanium frames. I generally use SIC tiptops to be a little more robust for the ring that takes the most "stress," but that may not be necessary.

In fact I've never had ANY guide ring groove with braid, only cheap tiptops on factory rods. ( alconite, zirconium, or SIC tiptops have been bulletproof for me).
