Anyone on the forum know of a possible supplier for - 17mm spinning/fly type reel seats with opposing, movable hoods, or threaded barrels that hoods could be added to, in excess of 6"? Intended application is for spey and center pin builds, where a few different weight and diameter reels will be used (at different times), on the same rod.
For reference, factory Loop Opti Spey rods have seats similar to what I'm hoping to locate. Either metal or graphite would suffice. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Re: X-Long reel seats or Threaded barrels?

Get 2 barrels and hoods from skeleton seats and turn a nice insert. Add whatever length you need in the insert. Fuji sells the components individually, so you don't have to break up a skeleton set to do this. Re: X-Long reel seats or Threaded barrels?

One of the old RodMaker magazines had an article on this to help balance fly rods I believe. Re: X-Long reel seats or Threaded barrels?

Thanks for the suggestions guys.
Would you happen to know which back issue of RodMaker had the article Spencer? Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
