What size running guides do you prefer on a center pin rod (14 footer)

If its used at all during winter then size 8 is recommended. Re: center pin rods, running guide size?

My own personal rods get 7's. I'd rather deal with the ice than the tip weight. That being said, 8's are the best choice. Re: center pin rods, running guide size?

For heavy icing conditions, size 10 are even better to use as a running guide.
I build a lot of winter rods and never use anything smaller than size 10 if the rod is going to be used in sub zero weather with no heat. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
