I am building a carbon fiber tubular handle and I want to know what your favorite butt cap is. I am not happy with most of the stuff I have seen what do you like? Re: CF Butt Cap

My favorite way is to inlet a 7/8" coat button with a design on them. I get them at fabric stores. I have also used the rubber but plugs, mudhole end caps both rubber and metal. This for the carbon fiber over foam cores. You maybe asking about the straight tubular and I have no experience with them since I make the carbon fiber grips. Re: CF Butt Cap

Interior trim bumpers from Riley Auto, in their roundtable display of trim fasteners. About 3/4 in diameter. I wash them aggressively with alcohol to remove any mold release or wax. Fill the butt of the blank with epoxy but leave open for about 1/2 inch deep, let cure. Then add epoxy to that cavity so that some will squeeze out-that means that the carrot of the bumper also has epoxy behind it and it will be retained well. Carefully remove any visible epoxy with paper towel/alcohol. Re: CF Butt Cap

I like to use the Batson EVA caps and sand them to fit. The second in from the right has a polyurethane arbor made to fit the inside of the tube and the EVA cap is sanded to fit the tube.
