What is the size comparison for madeira #40 to madeira size A? is there any difference? could I use this for decorative wraps or would it be to large? Re: Madiera thread #40

Madeira Polyneon 40 is slightly smaller than a rod wrapping size "A" regular nylon thread. A size "A" NCP thread, is about one size larger than "A" regular. There is no size "A" Madeira. Re: Madiera thread #40

Joseph,
As Jim wrote above, Madeira Polyneon 40 weight works very well for decorative wraps. You can use it by itself, or mixed in with size A. However, be aware that all embroidery threads are treated with a lubricant, and as such you will most likely want to seal the threads with color preserver before applying a protective finish.
