Anyone have experience with the Point Blank series of blanks... Have a few builds coming up for some of the guys in a local bass club. Any info on the blanks themselves, or feedback on the quality compared to other blanks on the market. I know they are relatively new, so wasn't sure on how the quality is holding up.
That being said any recommendations on specific blanks from Point Blank only for the following: Spinng Rod- medium action to throw tubes 1/4 - 3/8 oz finnese jigs Casting rod- for pitching creature baits 20lbs flouro 3/8-5/8 mostly Re: Point Blank

I'm building my first, test casting indicates a great blank. It is the PB691MXF built as a casting rod. I think it would fit your spinning need well, but look at the various blanks offerred and see what you think. The blank measures 555-75 (grams-AA) on Fuji's rig, 582-75 on my CCS rig, both at the regular CCS constants, not the specific Fuji constants. These measurements are for two different blanks of the same model. (Fuji, with their constants, calls it 350-67)
The blank is straight and weighs exactly what the catalog says it should weigh. The finish is distinctive due to the unique construction of the Point Blanks, and looks good. Overall, I am very pleased. I would not shy away from Point Blanks because they are relatively new. Re: Point Blank

Jay consider the PB701MLF for the spinner. Plenty of power at 410gr (RDA) with a 65-degree tip angle. Personally, I would look at the PB701LF to make your lower end lure range a little more fun to work with (unless cover is a factor). 350gr and 69-degree tip. Build either of these KR style and never look back. If your sure you'll stay with braid 10lb or below or 8 or below mono or fluoro go with a KL16H stripper. Any heavier, opt for the KL20H stripper.
Pitching needs a sensitive beast. PB761MHXF (610gr RDA, 65 degree tip) would do it but if you want to flip with it too, maybe the PB761HXF (690gr, 63 degree tip) is the best compromise. I would NOT use the KR Concept with 20# fluoro (RV6 stripper), stick with the KW10 as a stripper. Re: Point Blank

Jim,
what would you recommend for the pitcher in either the 7'3" or the 7'0"? thanks, Tom Re: Point Blank

PB731HF. The heaviest 7ft will only give you 525gr power, that would be the PB701MHF Re: Point Blank

Jim,
well it sounds like the 761MHXF is my stick. I will make sure that I get one ordered up here shortly and work it into the line up, although it may be hard with both duck and deer opening soon!! Thanks, Tom Re: Point Blank

my rod is done and in service with my son. He loves it. Super sensitive, responsive, weighs only 3.6 oz, casts very smoothly with Fuji casting setup, all titanium 6.0 RW, 4.5 running guides and top. Fuji candy apple thread. Nice. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
