Ajing rods

Has anyone built this type of rod? It seems they often have solid tips that are very thin. What are your thoughts? Blanks used? I only have found Matagi's T-Russel blanks.

Thanks,
Rick

I build some Matagi.
Nice blank for small Fish with very light lure (lighter than 1/8oz).
I use it for Perch (and Rockfishing = small sea Fish in port).

Thanks Eric. What is the purpose of the solid tip, in your opinion?

I used them too. Matagi Super Rozy Figaro . The solid and elastic tip ( v.v.very thin) has a role in helping you to throw micro lures , to see the bite on it, helping to not tear the mouth of the fish and loose it ( there are species with soft mouth tissues ) and also in giving a very fast( tip ) action for the rod . I love them for trout and chub fishing in streams and small rivers .

Of course the tip section ( extremly tin and elastic )is a pain in the A. to wrap :)

Hi
The solid tip models are used for fishing tiny soft plastic baits, the super soft tip allows for the detection of what would usually be "line bites" with the tip straightening as the lure is picked up and slack line occurs. They also have hollow tip models which are used with micro metals and diving lures.
Cheers
Bob

Thank you, gentlemen

I'm going to try one out before building to see if I like the fast UL style

I just received a Megabass UL ajing rod. 1 to 3 lb test, 1/60 to 1/8 lures, solid tip. It's remarkably faster than any UL blank I've seen. I love it. There seems to be something unique about this rod, at least. Now I have to convince myself I can tie little guides on very narrow rods...
