Regarding the bottom handle, how far does your cork overhang the end of the blank? Partially into a 1/2 ring, or a full 1/2 ring? Or something completely different?
And with that last ring, do you use a solid ring and turn it to shape with the opposite end of the blank in the chuck (seems risky), or do you use a cork plug? Does anyone have a lead on rubberized cork plugs? .5"x.5". I can find regular cork ones but would prefer rubberized. I know I can buy plug cutters and cut them out, but would prefer if I could buy a bunch premade. Re: Spey handle cork overhang

Matt,
I always use hole-free rubberized cork for my TH rods. It is tougher than EVA. I actually use both products on my fly rods. But only rubberized cork on TH rods. Not a problem at all turning from the male ferrule on a multi-piece fly rod. Especially if it is 4 pieces. Email me for instx on how to do it safely. Herb Distrib. As Herb stated, I always use a hole-free rubberized cork for the two handed rods. I've tried several other products (even Moose antler) and this is the best solution. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
