I just got this rod in the mail, its like 8 half feet.i can't find anything about it other than fairfield made in usa model f 990,after looking i did find fairfield tackle and they carry daiwa, and st.croix rods, this rod looks to be very vintage, and looks just like st.croix, thinking it may be good rod to redo, hopefully someone here has heard of them, and maybe it be worth more as a original, any input thanks. Pictures would tell us a lot more then you are. 81/2 ft. what? Spin, casting, fly, surf, boat, fresh water, salt water. There's a Fairfield Tackle in NJ on Rt 46. They use to make rods up until the late 90's. Newark Sinker, same business. Give them a call. Dennis J. Danku (Sayreville,NJ) Re: fairfield rod rare

It's in very good condition for a rod built in the late 1960's to early 1970's, but it has little monetary value.
