A friend inherited this rod and reel.....there is no stamp or markings on it. He believes it is bamboo. Has anybody ever seen one like this before? Know anything about it? Is it worth anything?

Thanks,
Joe

It's an older mooching type rod and reel, probably from the 1930's.

I think this is an old cod / bottom fishing rod. As for value to a collector perhaps - but not very much for the rod. The reel would be the true "collectable" item

Some, perhaps. A couple or three hundred dollars to the right person, maybe.

Thanks everybody. My buddy has decided it would look good on the wall of his lake cabin.

Tom....as always your board is awesome.
