Winn Grips

I just bought a few sets of Winn grips - 2 salt water and 1 light spinner. I was wondering if anyone has cut these grips, and if so, with what. The reason why I ask is because for salt water rods I use a forward grip, and would like them to match. So, I'm thinking of buying another one and cutting it to match the rear grip. I would like to have some input before I ruin a $20 grip. By the way, they look and feel great, but only time will tell.

I haven't cut one of those, yet. I would suspect that a band of tape for a straight edge and then a very sharp (new) single edge razor blade would be in order.

I have cut the salt water fore grip and I used Toms method. A sharp razor easily cuts through it. Good luck. MH

Most of the WINN grips have an EVA "bumper" on either end. The polymer is inset into an EVA core. If you trim off the EVA end, the polymer layer is exposed and could begin to peel back. I have not done it so I can't be sure but it looks like a cut could compromise the integrity of the grip. We are introducing a selection of custom designed WINN grips made for an exact fit to some of Fuji's most popular seats. They feature a beveled EVA "bumper" on each end and just from working with the grips and the design, I wouldn't attempt cutting anything other than the "bumper".

I have cut them down a couple of times to fit the sk2 seats just use a sharp razor then glue a new piece of eva on the end to protect the outside layer. It would be nice if they start making them to fit the sk2 seats
