It's a thought, Bill. Sentimentality was the reason I was so fixated on that particular thread because I used it on the first boat rod I built for my son about 12 years ago. It;s looking pretty ragged, but the blank and handle are fine. Can't get the blanks anymore either from St. Croix. New guides and a re-wrap are what it needs, and he wanted the same thread if it was possible. As I said, I got four spools of it and it should be here Tuesday. I've used the rod on tuna; it's a heck of a rod.
