The Ohio Rod Builders have just run out of room. This is our fourth and largest gathering and we have maxed out. I already have an idea where we will be for our next gathering. it is about five times the size of this current hall.

I will be looking for presenters, demonstrators, and vendor reps. I expect it will be about this time next year, or possibly in the early winter depends on which is most popular. I will take a survey this Saturday.

Thank you to all involved in this years demonstrations: Joe Vanfossen, Dave Dosser, Herb Tidrick, Greg Hromiko, Roy Miller, Ronnie Scheetz, Bob Keller and john Powell.

Also Thanks to our sponsors. So far they are American Tackle, MudHole, Utmost Enterprise, Swampland, Rod Maker Magazine, and Jeremy Reed with his Mad Swirl products.

This would never been possible with out all of you.

I emailed Bill and offered to bring my laptop along and set up a small area to demonstrate Visual Wrap for anyone that has questions about how to use the software, and how the designs you create in the software are then turned into threads on your rod.

I modified some old CAD files I had lying around and created a 1 page handout to assist with the planning before you begin with the software. Basically it is a series of varying sized diamonds at various compression/expansion levels that you can use to wrap around a blank and get a good idea just how many pattern and background threads will fit your blank. With this info, you can better plan just how many threads (and spacing needed) when you use Visual Wrap to create a pattern. Sounds sort of complex, but it's actually very easy to use. I'll have a copy of my Decorative Wrap Pattern Planning tool available for everyone in attendance. Even if you don't have or plan to ever use Visual Wrap, it's still pretty helpful in planning out a dec wrap by hand.

I don't have a projection system for my laptop, so this won't be a formal presentation on Visual Wrap, I'll just have it available throughout the day so if you have any questions, feel free to introduce yourself and I'll try to answer your questions the best I can.

If you have a reasonably simple pattern and want to see how to determine where to layout crosses and boxes, and then actually do the pattern, I probably can demonstrate that also depending on how the formal demonstrations progress throughout the day.

See you all tomorrow.
