The new line of blanks from Angler's Resource called Point Blank are now shipping to vendors. They have been in the works for several years now, and are finally making it to the shelf.

I've been doing some research on the Point Blank, blanks since I saw them listed on one of the suppliers that Mr. Ising mentioned. I couldn't find a whole lot, but what I could find sounds pretty sweet.
"The blanks feature a scrimless design, opting for a helical bias; but unlike similar blanks, POINT Blanks add a dynamic interpretation of the helical trend and employ a variable angle bias that allows full adjustability of flex and hoop strength along the entire length of the blank. The breakthrough technology allows the addition of substantial power gains in the butt section while offering smoother mid-rod transitions to very fast tips. No scrim, high modulus Toray and Mitsubishi fibers and dynamic filament bias lead to a finished product that is among the lightest and strongest ever offered. A finished 7-foot split grip, medium action POINT Blank will tip the scales at around 3.5 ounces — reel seat, components, handles, thread and epoxy. For rod builders, the news is even better. POINT Blank features an Equiradius Butt, which translates to a single diameter through the first 12-or-so inches of the butt section. This modification was developed to focus vibration by introducing an extra “bounce” precisely at the reel seat, but for builders it means easier handle fitting and a single winding check size for the entire grip. Combined, POINT Blank features are a winner for anglers seeking a premium package that brings light weight, sensitivity and brute power together into a rod that has the feel to keep anglers in constant contact and the beef to boat flip a fish before it knows what happened." That article appeared in Western Outdoor News some time ago. It references a 3.5 oz finished rod. Ernie Horvath had a 7ft POINT BLANK rod at ICREBE that weighed 2.49oz ....SK2 seat, small grips, single coat finish. Pretty amazing. Re: POINT BLANKS are shipping

Can someone make a short video showing the way they bend under load? I'm pretty curios about the way this blanks will transfer power from tip to the butt . kingofbeasts custom rods Re: POINT BLANKS are shipping

Holy smokes, that is one tough rod blank. And a blank with a .554" butt diameter and a 5/64 tip, that surely weighs less than an ounce and a half. Incredible. Re: POINT BLANKS are shipping

Jim,
Is the rod bend shown in picture a common characteristics for the Pin Point rods? Can you share with us the angle that the rod was bent at, from the picture it looks to be past the 90degree point? Thanks Re: POINT BLANKS are shipping

Does anyone have first-hand experience with these blanks?
Thanks in advance, Rick Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
