Can anybody tell me where I can get a motor and foot pedal for a lathe for a good price? I'm setting up a new shop in Delray Beach, FL and don't want to spend a fortune. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Mud is netting up a power head for their basic wrapper...I think this might be what you're looking for.

Bill,
You use the word "lathe".
Are you asking about a variable speed control for a wood lathe to turn grips, or are you talking about a variable speed to wrap rods.

Do you want reverse on your wrapping motor, if you are talking about a rod wrapping setup? If so, you might consider the use of DC motors and motor controllers; rather than the common AC universal motors and carbon foot pedal controllers.

Good luck

Roger, I'm looking at a rod wrapping lathe, and I'm trying to save a little money on it. I'm in Florida for 6 months and trying to set up another shop. I'm also looking for an electronic foot pedal, but I might have to go with a regular foot pedal. Thanks for any ideas or help you can give me.
