While I need to buy one of these just to appreciate the machining, has anyone used one long enough to comment on how comfortable they are? To help everyone understand, a tennessee handle has been my favorite for 20+ years. Re: ALPS AES Exposed Aluminum Spinning Reel Seats

Steve,
I've built a few rods for my cousin and brother in law using this reel seat, but haven't built one for myself yet. They Really like this reel seat. It fits comfortably in your hand, but like you, I too love the Tennessee handle. If light weight is what you are Looking for, stick with the Tennessee handle, but if u want a little bling This reel seat is really nice... Hope this helps, glenn Re: ALPS AES Exposed Aluminum Spinning Reel Seats

Glenn,
Thanks for your comments. I was concerned that the divot at the top to expose the blank might be uncomfortable. This might make the cut on a saltwater rod. Re: ALPS AES Exposed Aluminum Spinning Reel Seats

Your thumb fits nicely in the divot. My favorite still is the Tennessee handle, 2nd favorite is the aero reel seat, and the third is the alps seat, just bcuz of the cost. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
