Enclosed Cork Grip/Reel Seat

Hey guys I have a Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth spinning rod that has a cork reel seat. It is one the most comfortable grips I have ever owned. I am in the process of designing and planning a rod for myself, an would love to incorporate this type of grip/reel seat. For those that are familiar the link is attached:

I wasn't sure what components were used. Possibly the Fuji SKM hood with the cork over the top ???? Any ideas or advice.

Jay,
Not quite the same, but almost the same.

I call this the hidden hood reel seat.
It uses the skeletal size 16 reel seat. The space between the back and the front part of the reel seat, consists of 3 1/2 inch rings, that are sanded down to form the base for the reel.
The non threaded portion of the reel seat is enclosed in cork which consists of 1 1/2 rings.

For a spinning reel, the reel is held at the front portion of the reel seat. So, the fact that the rear threads are exposes is not too relevant since the largest share of the time, the hand never touches the threads.

If you wanted to, I could show you step by step instructions on how to build a reel seat like this one.

I like it, I can actually use a Fuji HPS on the rear of the seat and keep everything enclosed. Send me the instructions u used, I think it would work!!!! Can u send me an email at jyburns9@Gmail.com

Jay,
I have made 2 rods with almost identical handles.
I used 2 IPSM16/B Graphite Spinning Reel Seat Bodys and 2 HPS Hidden Thread Up or Down Locking Foregrip.
I cut the reel seats off at the point where the HPS hood rests when screwed tight. I then chose the length of the spacer to match the reel I was using.
The only downside to this type of seat is that it is possible that you will find reels that will not fit.
