I'm putting a new set of minima micro guides on a rod, I seem to get better performance with a #6 top than with the micro guide top; is this normal? Re: tops for Pac Bay minima microguides

Ken,
Certainly true. You might also try using #6 for your running guides and may find that you get even better performance by the use of these larger guides. Just because guides are small - does not mean that they are the best guide for every rod and application. Be safe Re: tops for Pac Bay minima microguides

You want to use the smallest and lightest guides that offer the best performance and required durability.
But you can go too small, particularly with the tiptop. Some of that can be affected by the tiptop ring angle as well. So only drop size/s until you see no further benefit or experience a reduction. ................. Re: tops for Pac Bay minima microguides

Thank you for the advice; I have two identical 51/2' pistol grips that I'm working on; one is complete with #3 minima's in a spiral wrap, I can play with the other, a fun experiment.
Thank you and best regards, Ken Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
