Hey everyone,
Thinking of wrapping up three ice rods this winter. I have some extra blanks sitting around that i'll use but was wondering if there were any handle's out there anyone would recommend? Was thinking of just a blank carbon tube but not sure how I would attach the reel. Thanks ahead of time! Jon Re: Ice rod handles

use electrical tape lots of people do it , use slip rings , , use regular handles , they all work it all depends on what you want, just an idea , a lot depens on the fish you are fishing for , [ BIG < MED < SMALL ] ???? SID William Sidney AK Re: Ice rod handles

one suggestion john would be flocking the grip. Great in the cold with wet hands and no slip. Again I agree with my AK brother. Depends on what the fish size, depth, using a bob house etc etc. Re: Ice rod handles

I'm with Billy on the flocking. All of my ice rods use flocked cork grips with regular reel seats.
I even started flocking the reel seats. Keeps the old fingers a lot warmer. Here's a rod handle on a stick I built for a friend. [img.photobucket.com] Regards Dave Fishing is Life the rest is just Details Re: Ice rod handles

I have picked up handles from broken rods and just glued the ice blank in with tape arbor but found a wood plug then drilling the right size for the blank is better Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
