Using the 27x method, I find that I need a size 40 MNSG guide as the stripper. If I go with a K guide, I only need a size 30 or 25 because of the taller K guide. Will casting distance be better with the size 40 guide than a 30 or 25? Re: Fuji Mnsg and K guides

I suggest you go to the Angler's Resource site and go through their tutorials on using the K guides. There is a very simple, easy to follow , recipe for setting up a spinning rod. I will only comment that all who have gotten into this issue deeply have concluded that height is more important than diameter. The only problem with height is that it takes up more room in rod tubes. If I were setting up a travel rod I would not use tall guides. The small difference in distance doesn't justify big tubes. Not sure what weight but no difference in casting distance between the two. Going back tomorrow and going to cast the 4 oz ranger to see if the results are the same.
