Glass rod newb

I'm an amateur rod builder and I want to build a fiberglass fly rod. Anything special I need to know? do I need special ferrules or anything?

No, the material has little to nothing to do with the process itself. Most if not all modern glass blanks feature self ferrules.

Are you sure you want glass? Why? Not trying to be confrontational, but don't know what "amateur" means to you. If you are familiar with the comparative characteristics of graphite and glass, never mind. But if not, consider why glass. I am a firm believer that you can find any power/action combination in graphite that you can find in glass, and it will be lighter.
That is why I ask. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
