Help With Ferrule Wrap With Guide

Need to wrap a ferrule (tip-over-butt) that has a guide very close to the female end. I read number 14 of the FAQs. That would work out well. I also read what Dale Clemens wrote that a 1/4 wrap would suffice but not look good. So most wrap the entire ferrule to length of the male penetration plus 1/4 inch or to the point where the diameter reduces to the normal taper of the blank.

On this blank the male end penetrates 3 - 5/8 inch. Measuring 3 - 5/8 inch of the tip section places it (male tip) right under the guide ring.

This is a surf spin that will have a 4-5 oz weight plus bait. I've used the 27x spacing method. Moving the guide IMO is out of the question. Suggestions anyone????

if you don't trust one wrap
Do the Ferrule wrap Coat with several coats of say permagloss
then wape all the guides on and use your finish

You can put a guide on top of a ferrule wrap. And, the ferrule wrap doesn't have to be very long. Your choice.
