Thread sealant question

After I apply a few coats of color protector/ sealant to the threads, should I take any off that got on the blank past the wraps, of just leave it? My Rod I am re-doing, I put 3 coats of CP on last night, even though I probably didn't need to since I am using color fast thread. I am waiting on new decals from mudhole to finish it up and put the thread finish on. Hopefully I mix this one right.

I would wipe off any that extends past the wraps more than a tiny smidgeon. When you apply your epoxy, make sure you extend it just past the outer limit of the CP.

Well the cp is already dry, so I will have to scrape it off with a credit card, just didnt know if I should. I put a trim band in front of the guide, and I am using 3mm nano guides, so I got a little in the guides as well.

Sound like you might have loaded your brush with too much CP.
