Hey all,
I've been doing some work with my inkjet printer and was wondering what brands of paper people have found to work the best with waterslide decals on a rod? I've bought one brand bu the decal comes off with a white background which wont look the best. Are there brands that make completely transparent decal paper? or is there a way to make the white background on the paper I bought more transparent? Thanks much! Re: Decal Paper

Hi Jon,
Yes, clear sheets are available. I'm not aware of any sponsors that carry them, though. A few months ago, I purchased 20 sheets off of an online bidding site. I searched "clear laser waterslide paper". Take care, Chris Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/12/2014 12:16AM by Chris Herrera. Re: Decal Paper

Thanks for the tip Chris, will "laser" paper work with an inkjet though? Re: Decal Paper

Jon,
Sorry about that. I needed laser because I have an Alps printer. Just substitute inkjet and you will find plenty. Some waterslide paper is listed for both, and some are listed for one or the other. Chris Re: Decal Paper

One thing to remember with waterside is the inkjet ink will resolve unless it is sealed in with a clear coat spray and allowed to dry. It will not be a print and apply immediately deal. Freddwhy (Rapt-Ryte) Re: Decal Paper

Papilio inkjet paper is what ive used and had good results with it. It is not a print and apply though as you have to clear coat it first. Re: Decal Paper

I've had my best results using clear Testor's waterslide which can be found at Hobby Lobby in the models section. I had issues with fading with some of the other media. I paint the area of the blank where the decal will go with white, silver, or gold rattle can paint first. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
