I am setting up a 7'6" 3 wt. blank as a spinning rod. It will be done as a 27x setup. I ordered in the Minima guides at the same time I ordered the reel seat and cork. I was going to do this with the SV guides, but when I tried to locate the sixe 20 stripper, it was way to short to work in the 18" to 22" distance from the reel face. I am going to have to go to the taller M guides for the stripper, and maybe the next guide or 2. I have the SV guides to go from the choker to the tip. I have never seen the M guides, and am just going off of the measurements from PacBay. Can I mix and match between the M guide and the SV guide? Mike Bradfrod R.M.B. You can mix and match anything. They may appear a bit different I'm not up to speed on all the various model numbers these days. The set up itself doesn't care what anything looks like, just that it fills the criteria. Do you have photos to go by? If they look the same in finish, frame material and ring, sure, why not?

Mike,
Right on. Depending on the line being used on the rod, I will use either the size 16 or the size 20 M Minima guide. This guide is the perfect height for the typical spinning rod setup. The typical setup will be a size 20M, then SV 16, 10 and size 6 or 4 F style runners. Be safe Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/07/2014 07:01PM by roger wilson. Re: Minima Model M guide?
