Hello, I want another 3wt rod for myself and I am looking at the matrix 9' 3wt (9' is my main preference) as an option and maybe one of their shorter 3wt blanks as well. Does anyone have any experience with the 9' blank? My normal casting distances are in the 15-50' range and would prefer a blank that can fish in that range with a 3wt line. Though I have fished 9 ft. and longer 3wts., mine is a Sage SPL 389-3, I don't think the difference in length is important.
50 ft. is a bit far for me to get a pretty rollover and presentation with such a light line, though I've seen some of the ultralight fly fishing experts do things with 1 and 0 wts.. I think terminal tackle selection and set up get more important as you get light. Re: AmTak Matrix 3wt fly blanks

I'm one of those UL guys, and the owner of ULFF, all I fish is 3wt and lighter. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
