I have an Autistic grandson, my wife would like me to build her a spinning rod with a wrap promoting autism awareness. I know that they use a multi color puzzle design as their symbol. Anyone have any ideas? Re: Wrap Design

I made a set of Autism grips for a friend a few months ago, and am making him another set now. I also am making a set for an Autism Awareness fund raiser raffle, and the guy doing that ordered a set for his son. The other logo is the Blue ribbon. If oyu can do a weave you can do either of these, if you're trying to do a Decorative WRap it's not going to happen.
Here is the original grip I made: [www.rodbuilding.org] HEre is the Autism shark grips I'm currently making: [www.rodbuilding.org] Here is another one I'm making where I will put the blue ribbon in teh middle of teh fish. [www.rodbuilding.org] Re: Wrap Design

Billy,
Can you make me a 8 inch grip to fit a MHX Mb843? That would work fine for this rod. I am not into weaving yet, one day though. Re: Wrap Design

You have a lot of options. You could make a decal (Don Morse's article on Rod Tatoos in the V16#5 RodMaker would give you some good techniques to use) or painting to go onto the rod blank, and then bracket with thread in the colors of the organization's logo. I'm sure you could do a weave of the design as well.

you could try doing a sticker instead of the weave.
I'm not sure if this is too think but it's worth a thought. [www.cafepress.com] or these [www.amazon.com] Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/16/2014 10:58AM by gary Marquardt. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
