Small Slice on End of Heat Shrink?

Hi guys, quick question getting ready to fire up the heat gun. I am a little worried about bulkiness on the blank on one end of my HST grip because it will go straight to the reel seat. Does anyone know if it helps if you put small slices in the tubing, so it melts better to the blank?
Thanks a million! Scott "My biggest fear in life is that when I die, my wife will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it." Re: Small Slice on End of Heat Shrink?

It really doesn't melt - it shrinks with heat. I think you'll find that not be the look you want with a slit in it. Re: Small Slice on End of Heat Shrink?

You put a nick in it; it shrinks - you have a split ... Not at all what you want Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
