Hello all, I am new to rod building and building a spiral wrap rod. I just did a tiger wrap on an old fiberglass boat rod I rebuilt.
I was wondering how much would it effect the action of the rod if I did a tiger wrap between the stripper guide and bumper guide, bumper guide and 180 guide, or between both. Instead of doing the wrap on the butt. Thanks Re: Tiger Wraps between guides

It won't affect the action at all. It will affect the speed of the rod (reaction and recovery) but down that low it's not going to affect it by much. I doubt it'll be noticeable on a rod of that type and weight.

Tom,
As you know, any extra wraps and finish that is placed on a rod, adds to the weight of the rod. Many folks go to extreme measures to keep weight on a rod at the absolute minimum for "better performance". If you using a rod as a tool, many very good fishermen opt for the very lightest weight rod possible for the application. If using the rod as a wall hanging decorative item, then by all means use as much "bling" as you want on the rod. Good luck Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
