I have a Harnell 625R from my dad who last fished it in '53-'54. I have fished it since for throwing a spinner for steelhead at Bonneville, Oregon City and the upper and lower Sandy. It is in great shape. The wraps are clean, the finish is good, but the cork is marked from hooks, shrimp, eggs and fish. The cork should be replaced.
Can anyone tell me the specs of this rod? I find much info on the surf and boat rods, but not really anything on this rod. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Rob Re: Harnell 625R

Rob, Info from a 1965 catalog states that as a blank the # was 625B , 2 pc,9ft., .635 butt, #8-9 tip/top at a price of $17.35
As a finished rod it was #625, 12# test line, 9 ft., 2pc, had 6 guides, action was light, with an alum. seat for a price of $35.95. They were listed as : 2-handed Salt or Fresh Water Salmon & Steelhead Rods Dennis J. Danku (Sayreville,NJ) Re: Harnell 625R

Thanks Dennis.
The cost in 1965 of $35.95 finished is a real surprise. I guess that was in the day of $0.22 per gallon of gas. When the rod came into my possession in 1954 it appeared it had been used several seasons. So my guess is it was built maybe in 1950. The age alone for a rod that is fished most years is a pretty good testament for the durability of well made fiberglass. Rob Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
