Hi guys
Need your help: I'm building float rod on STC blank and using AT Solid Titanium A-Frame Spinning Guides. When I tried to align them after I wrapped them i got the problem. First I aligned them in the basement and it was fine, then I checked the alignment outside- the guides were off line, then I realigned them again outside, when I checked alignment inside it was off again. After several attempts I realized that the guides changing the alignment pretty quickly (20-30 sec) when the temperature is changing. Anybody encountered such problem before and what alignment should I use from inside or outside( I fish almost all year around if weather permits)? P.S. It looks like the guides act like recoil guides that come back in warm temperature after bent in cold. I would appreciate any suggestions and comments. Re: american tackle titanium guides

I have used them on quite a few rods and have never noticed the alignment change. I'm not doubting you, just saying that it is unusual to these guides. If this is actually happening because of the guide, then the guide must be changing dimensions, which should be easy to check. Take a bigger size guide that is changing, cobble up a reliable way of fastening the foot to a flat surface, and take some measurements of the ring position. You'll have to be able to measure the side to side dimensions of the ring relative to the foot when cold (refridgerator) vs room temp.
If this shows nothing, then it must be something about the winding process or material. If it shows dimensions changing, contact AmTak-I'm sure they would be interested. How do you fasten the guides to the blank prior to winding them? If adhesive, I'd be suspicious of that. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
