Newbie quiestion here...
Ok I have established the rod blank is going to be a Seeker STSF55H 5'-6" Stand up tuna rod AFTCO #4 UBSC2 Short / Curved black & gold for the butt Now...what AFTCO Big Foot® Super Heavy Duty Roller Guides black & gold and AFTCO Big Foot® Super Heavy Duty Roller Tip-Tops black & gold do I need to fit the rod blank. Also the EVA Foam Foregrip black what size and length? Sizing these componemnts are really confusing... Thank for the help! Re: Guide size and tip size for a Seeker blank

The tapers on most heavy saltwater blank do not match the taper inside the AFTCO roller tops. This has always been a bit frustrating as getting the top to fit snug at the very tip of the blank requires grinding the blank tip to a new taper (not always a good idea). Having it fit snug at the base of the top leaves some slop at the inside tip end which has to be taken up with thread. However, this is the better scenario.
Having said this, I'd order the top at least one size larger than the listed blank tip size. So if the blank is listed as say, a #22, order at least a 24 tiptop. You have the blank butt diameter. Make sure you order an EVA grip that is smaller than that, by at least 1/4 inch. Finally, are you building straight thru or cutting and inserting into a uni-butt? ..............
