They're all in there.

There are all the "standard" shapes or you can make anything you want. Whatever is comfortable to you is what will work best.

Ron, your email is hidden, otherwise I could send you diagrams of the most common fly rod grips. Mostly the selection is a personal choice.

Flex Coat has a nice summary picture with suggested dimensions of the most common single handed grips.

Terry,

Thank you for posting the link to that. Does anyone know of a similar diagram for the Fenwick style grip?

The Fenwick is basically a standard half wells, which is often referred to as a "Western" grip.

So take a reverse half wells, and don't reverse it, and you have what pretty much amounts to a Fenwick grip. The fore end is sloped back just a bit.

Tom,

Thanks for the explanation, but I'm still hoping for a similar dimensioned drawing mainly for the artistic value.

We did a series of grip templates in RodMaker a few years back. I think we covered about all of them, including the Ritz, and gave general dimensions along each inch of length.

A lot also depends on WHAT fells good to the user ?? Most Stock handles are Small in size so making your own to the person that will use the rod is a lot better
