Hello all
I'm looking for some assistance in repairing a Fenwick elite tech rod. The very first guide from the reel end and the third one from the tip need replaced... I'm hoping someone has some experience with this rods and could recommend what guides I need to buy. All the different frame styles and types have me confused.. I'd like to try to keep the rod looking uniform. The original stripper was somewhere around 24-25 measuring where the insert met the frame. I think the smaller guide would be around a 6 or 8 my main concern is frame height as all of the guides stand up pretty far from the blank. Thanks Edited 1 time(s). Matthew,
A simple thing to do is to go to a rod shop with the rod in hand. Then, simply compare the guides appearance and sizes to get the correct match. [www.proguidedirect.com] and [www.fenwickfishing.com] So, it appears that Fenwick has used a couple of different guides on the rods. i.e. the alconite guides, as well as the titanium guides with the Silicon Carbide insert. Can you take a picture of the rod showing a detail picture of the guide/s on the rod. Then, it will be pretty simple to match up the guides. I am guessing that the first guide is likely a size 25 and the upper guide is likely a size 6. Good luck Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
