I'm wondering if anyone might know how the Batson RX8 extra-fast action fly blanks compare to other blanks. I looked for some CCS data but it looks like it's all fairly dated. I use them for spinning & casting but have never built on their fly blanks.
My personal experience is with the CTS Affinity line and Dan Craft Five Rivers series. I consider the CTS fast and the FR's extra fast. I like them both for throwing big bugs on local rivers. So, just wondering how the RX8's stack up next to these two. Or, any of the other "fast" action rated blanks for that matter. Thanks, Todd Re: Fly Blank Actions

Whether they are dated or not the CC Data is repeatable measurements of fact. What your asking for is an opinion, that's why the CC system was designed, to get away from opinions and sales hype.
So many of my opinions of rods I used or built were blown away, I don't have opinions anymore. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/18/2014 09:05PM by Spencer Phipps. Re: Fly Blank Actions

So many of "the numbers" are all over the place on the same blanks. I really don't trust the data that much. No way of knowing if CCS was done correctly.
You're right, I'm looking for real world opinion from fished rods. I guess I'm weird because I have an opinion on every rod I fish. Re: Fly Blank Actions

If you like the actions of the fast sage, loomis, or scott, you will like the rx8. My ccs data indicates the 4 pc rx8 blanks will cast more comfortably with one to one and one half line sizes higher at the std of 30 feet out of the tip.

That's pretty much what I had gathered. I finally got a link to some of the CCS data to work and saw some of the rods tested.
I wish Batson would start testing their rods like the MHX guys. Thanks Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
