This will be my first year attending the big Expo. I was told that custom rod builders may not wear their company hats or anything with their rod building company logos on them. Is this correct? I don't want to ruffle any feathers first time out. Re: Question on Expo attire

Tom will correct me if I am wrong but I believe you are okay wearing your personal company attire. The issue comes when you are trying to sell a product or advertise for a company that has not purchased booth space. ______________________________________ Super Tight Lines......Don Re: Question on Expo attire

Don is correct. I really don't care if you were show up wearing a cap or shirt with your rod building business logo or name. The rule is more about preventing manufacturers, dealers, etc., that do not have exhibit space in the hall from trying to capitalize on something they weren't willing to share in the cost of. That sort of thing isn't fair to the exhibitors who did purchase booth space, nor to me considering what I spend to make the event happen. Most all consumer and trade events have the same rule, including ICAST.
So, if you're a manufacturer, distributor, dealer, etc., and didn't buy booth space, don't show up wearing your company attire or attempt to work out of somebody else's booth. And no, it doesn't matter if an exhibitor there is carrying or selling your product - if you didn't purchase booth space, don't do it. You'll be escorted out of the hall. For custom rod builders attending the event, wear whatever you feel comfortable in. The Expo is a fairly casual event. All I ask is that you not market yourself to any general interest fishermen who might be attending as well. Any potential business they might generate in custom rod sales should go the builders who purchased booth or table space. ............ Re: Question on Expo attire
