looking for some blank ideas for a fly/spin combo rod. handle will flip. around the $100 +/-. 3-4 wt as a fly and something that would be UL-light in power as a spin rod. around 7' finished so 6' blanks would work best but open to ideas. at least a 2pc
blanks I'm considering so far; phenix elixir FX601-2 lamiglas g1000 GFW72-2L st croix 3S60ULF2 or 3S66LF2 trimmed down some TIA Matt Re: spin/fly blank

Look at travel rods. They have dual purpose. Lone Wolf Rods "Keep your powder dry and your lines wet" God Bless Re: spin/fly blank

I have built a few of those using 4 pc 4/5 wt fly blanks using the Rodmaker mag article. I do not remember the volume and issue but it covers fit very well. i also like to use netcrafts flexlite spin guides for these set up 27x for the spinning rod (1/8 - 3/8 oz lures with 6 lb test). They will spin cast very well and do a avery accepatable job of fly casting usually a 4wt line. Fun setups to own and have in the truck as the anytime rod. Re: spin/fly blank

Hello All.
Dick, the article you are thinking about is in Volume 12-Issue 3, Page 10. Tight Wraps. Bob, New Bern, NC. Re: spin/fly blank

thanks guys, great info! Any particular travel blanks I should give a hard look at. Problem I've found is finding shorter blanks in 4-5 wt.
dick Flexlites are definitely being considered for this build, also have a good selection of minimas I can try as well. I'll order that issue , sounds like some good info in the article thanks again Matt Re: spin/fly blank

I used a 7' 5 piece american tackle fly blank. Sadly, they are not longer available. Chris Richer Iroquois ON Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
