Andi,
Back in 1978 I took a rod to have the guides replaced and the repairman did not even put a finish on the thread. I was very upset and since I used to do a lot of fishing and had several rods that needed repair, I decided to learn how to wrap guides. Looking through some magazies I saw a small ad for a book by Dale Clemens titled Fiberglass Rod Making. I ordered the book and when I received I did the same thing you did-I read it cover to cover. Now many years later I am still making rods. I also have Tom's book in my collection. Building rods may not be an inexpensive hobby but it is a very enjoyable one, especially when you catch fish with them. Enjoy the book, build some rods and go out and enjoy yourself. Cheers, Ellis Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
