I want to paint some crankbaits and plan to use regular krylon enamel. But want to coat with them something clear, hard and waterproof. Not epoxy. What if any rod building products are out there that I can use for this. I would think Permagloss would be too hot and might melt the enamel. Janns has some plug coatings. Was wondering if you guys have used them and what you think of them. Thanks. Re: sort of rod building related

I've been using Liquid Fusion and I think it holds up pretty well and there's no mixing required. Re: sort of rod building related

[csipaint.com] We bought a big thing of the seal coat and dip coat cranks. Also can be sprayed. Believe a couple of the sponsors carry the product. Jann's comes to mind - [www.jannsnetcraft.com] Re: sort of rod building related

James,
I have applied Perma Gloss over Krylon Crystal Clear, which covered decals, without any problem. I tried it out first on an old rod blank before attempting it to see what would happen. It was fine; BUT, do not apply Krylon over Perma Gloss. It bubbles terribly ! I found out by accident! Don Campbell don@sensorfishingrods.com Edited 1 time(s). I would guess you build rods ??
Why not just spray with a DupliColor auto paint use laquer for your eyes and any strips etc. Just after drying for 24 hrs put thread finish on Light Bill - willierods.com Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
