Had a request for a rod built on a Powell blank. After looking at the price for a factory rod Im thinking the blank might be made over seas? If they are available who sells them?
Thanks Buzz Re: does Powell sell their blanks?

They did at one time but that ended a few years ago, I think. As Phil said, best to contact and ask Powell.

Humorous message based in name similarity deleted to avoid any future confusion.
I am not in any way affiliated with the Powell Rod company. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/04/2013 12:54PM by John E Powell. Re: does Powell sell their blanks?

It seems like all my life, but I always thought it would be a reference to the actor William Powell. Re: does Powell sell their blanks?

Buzz, sorry for the humor and any confusion and inconvenience it may have caused you.
I did a Google search on Powell rod blanks and saw a 2003 rodbuilding.org post about their blanks no longer being available, but that was about it. The best I can suggest is if your customer has a specific rod he has handled in mind, maybe you can get him to provide it to you for a short time so you can do a CCS measurement of it. Then use that data to find a close match in another product line. Sorry I can't be of more help to you. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/04/2013 12:57PM by John E Powell.
