The main colors on my tiger wrap are brown, od green and dark yellow. Can I use a color from the main wrap for my single second overwrap or should the color be of great contrast?
Thanks, Tim Re: First tiger wrap?

I have not done too many tiger wraps, but what i can tell the colour you use for you final wrap will be the colour most visible. In other words, if you want it to be mostly green use green thread for your outer wrap. In my limited experience the contrast colours were needed for the first wrap. I used most of the time black and one of either white ncp or silver or gold metallic. Then the colour i want to be a main colour, which i usually mach with guide wrapping thread colour. Best advise is to practice on the broken rod to achieve the combination you need. Re: First tiger wrap?

using three threads and scarficing 2 of them will make a tiger wrap pop again nothing like pratice to get it right. Bobby Stout Bloomburg, TX Re: First tiger wrap?

To answer the question, yes, the top color can be one of the bottom colors.
As stated, the top color will be the dominant color of the finished wrap. You don't need three colors on the bottom...It won't hurt, but having two that are of high contrast is what's important, and might be easier for a first try.. Yellow, white, silver, gold etc. work great on the bottom, along with a dark color like black, brown or green. Again, it's the high contrast that is the key. You can use three threads on top, and sacrifice two, but you don't need to. Two threads works fine and for a first try, might be easier. Garry2R's Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
