Hello Everybody.
I need a little help: I have a bottle of GudeBrod "Speed Coat" "Rod Finish" Part #SC440. The label also say's "Stays Crystal Clear Even after Sunlight Exposure" and "NON-FLAMMABLE WATER BASE" Does anyone know just what this stuff is and what it is used for? I have two 1-1/4 FL.OZ. bottles, one still in a package with a brush. Thanks to Everyone. Tight Wraps. Bob, New Bern, NC. Re: GudeBrod What?

It was a good product but discontinued long ago. It was a favorite of folks who used it for clear coating crankbaits. Nothing similar to it on the rod building market currently, although it is some type of water based urethane.

Hello Tom
Thanks for the quick response, Would this stuff be good for thread wraps and is there a shelf life for it? Thanks again Tight Wraps. Bob, New Bern, NC. Re: GudeBrod What?

It's actually quite good. There is a shelf life but that's dependent upon how thick it gets in the bottle over time. Generally it takes about 3 to 5 coats to give a nice thread coating. More if you want it to look like epoxy.
